Whereas the inn was for children, the grotesque is for adults. This is considered the most cruel and Japanese film that lives up to that billing. There is little relief that the film lives up to its title, that torture porn genre has largely taken over the horror field. There were no CGI effects here, just violence rarely sadistic thrills away, using makeup and prosthetics excellent shot very convincingly.
It said that in the best tradition of Japanese gore film, the plot is minimal, with a young couple played by actress Tsugumi Nagasawa and AV Kawatsure Hiroaki (recently in "OneChanbara") who started the street, only to wake up in shackles in a dirty basement. Without even having the decency to explain why, a particularly sadistic madman (Osako Shigeo) proceeds to degrade, torture and maul them. This film is not for the faint of heart.
